Two favorite activities for us at the Wisconsin Go

Two favorite activities for us at the Wisconsin Governor’s Fishing Opener have always been seeing what the DNR found in the lake at the event and teaching kids how to fish.

Did you know the event held a Family Fishing Day? On the Saturday of the fishing opener, bring your family to the designated park in the Northwest Wisconsin host county for a fishing expo. Family activities such as minnow races, games, arts and crafts, food, and booths with information about local things to do highlight the event. Your kids will have a blast.

This year, the Governor’s Fishing 🎣 Opener was held in Burnett County. Fishing occurred at Yellow Lake, and family fishing day was in Siren at Crooked Lake Park. Make plans for next year in Barron County at Rice Lake.

Most people know about the main attractions to visit in Memphis, Tennessee. To truly understand Memphis, your first stop should be the Withers Collection Museum and Gallery on Beale Street. This is our latest article for Wander With Wonder.

Internationally acclaimed Memphis photographer Ernest C. Withers is mainly known for capturing the civil rights movement. However, about 1.8 million photos exist to document everything from civil rights, Memphis blues, soul, rock n roll, Negro League Baseball, and African American lifestyle. Although Withers captured some of America’s most iconic civil rights images, he secretly worked as an informant for the FBI, reporting on the people he photographed. When you visit Memphis, Tennessee, seeing the National Civil Rights Museum, Sun Studio, and Graceland is expected. However, we recommend visiting the Withers Collection Museum & Gallery on Beale Street first.

One of our favorites has been the Pitchfork Steak Fondue in Medora. Not only was the meal incredible, but we ate outside overlooking the Medora Musical, a beloved outdoor theater in North Dakota’s Badlands and adjacent to Theodore Roosevelt National Park
